If you're running a GY6 (QMJ157) with an 8 or 11 pole stator and want a serious charging upgrade, this 18-pole conversion kit gives you the biggest charging system you can fit — and converts your scooter to a clean, reliable DC ignition setup at the same time. Mostly plug-and-play, big performance gains, and rock-solid Taiwan-made components.

The Details
If you’ve got a GY6 QMJ157 engine that originally came with an 8-pole or 11-pole stator (AC ignition), this kit lets you upgrade everything to a modern, powerful 18-pole charging system while also switching the whole ignition setup over to DC. The difference is huge — brighter lighting, more stable electrical output, better spark, and support for way more accessories.

Installing the kit is simple: remove your old stator, flywheel/magneto, rectifier regulator, ignition coil, and CDI. Everything in this kit replaces those parts. The system is about 90% plug-and-play. The only custom work you’ll need to do is:
• Find a new place to mount the rectifier/regulator and CDI/coil combo (they won’t fit in the factory location).
• Tap a 12V DC power source for the CDI using the included power clip.

The 18-pole stator is the largest stator the GY6 platform can physically fit — this is the “max upgrade.” It supports big electrical loads like 65W headlights, EFI conversions, stereos, underglow lighting, whatever you want to run. When paired with the DC CDI coil combo, you get a stronger spark, advanced timing curves, and **no rev limiter**. The coil/CDI combo is microprocessor-controlled and built in Taiwan for top reliability.

The rectifier regulator is produced in the same factory that builds electrical components for Kymco — which says a lot. Everything in this kit is high-quality, not the cheap stuff you see floating around online. If you’re trying to build a reliable GY6, this is easily one of the best electrical upgrades you can do.

Important Things to Note
• This kit fits **QMJ157-based GY6 engines (125cc–232cc)** only.
• The CDI/coil must be switched to DC when using an 18-pole stator — AC CDI systems are not compatible.
• Expect to relocate the rectifier and CDI/coil. There isn’t enough room in the stock mounting locations.
• You’ll need to tap a switched DC power source — the included clip makes this pretty simple.
• Because this is an electrical kit with multiple components, double-check your setup before ordering.
