This EVI Motor Brain CDI/Coil combo is a true plug-and-play ignition upgrade for Honda Metropolitans (GET engine, up to 2012). Install takes about 10 minutes and delivers a hotter spark, faster acceleration, and higher top speed.
The Details ⚙️
The EVI ignition kit is one of the best performance upgrades you can install on a Honda Metropolitan (GET motor). We pre-wire each CDI/Coil combo so install is fast, clean, and truly plug-and-play — no cutting, no splicing.
What this upgrade does:
- ⚡ Produces a massive ~32,000V spark for stronger combustion
- ⏱ Advances ignition timing
- 🚫 Removes the factory rev limiter
- 🏁 Improves acceleration and throttle response
- 📈 Increases potential top speed
- ⛽ Can improve fuel efficiency through cleaner burn
This unit is designed specifically for the GET engine found in Honda Metropolitans up to 2012.
Metropolitan II note: The EVI will remove the rev limiter, but those models have additional restrictions (cam, exhaust, intake, carb spacer, etc.), so gains will be limited unless those are addressed.
Simple install, immediate results — one of the best bang-for-the-buck upgrades for the platform 🔥

Important Things to Note 🚨
- Fits Honda Metropolitans up to 2012 only (GET engine)

I just installed Rolling Wrench Metropolitan EVI Performance CDI/Coil Combo on my 2003 Metro II. I included the Iridium sparkplug and 4.5-gram Dr. Pulley Sliders in this upgrade (Pollini Variator already installed). I weigh about 210 lbs., dressed. Prior to the upgrade my max speed topped at 30mph (compared to 35+ mph on my wife's stock 2009 Metro). On my initial ride to test out my install I hit 35mph!
I reviewed the installation YouTube video several times before proceeding. The video was very helpful, but I was a bit confused about the placement of the EVI box. It ended up zipped tied to the frame near the top back left of the seat and just outside the coolant expansion tank. I was also uncertain about which Metro wire to clip the EVI Red wire to. The video says, "Black Wire with White stripe." My Black with White stripe wire also has Gold dots on it. I would suggest a picture of the Metro wire and a good description of where it is located.
Improving those parts of the video should prove helpful to most amateur home mechanics. Thank you for the video. It did provide me with the confidence to tackle this installation on my own.
I was hoping to add a tachometer to my Metro-II at the same time. I had purchased one from Amazon, but it was designed for the original coil, and I did not want experiment and modify the wire harness of RW EVI CDI/Coil combo.
Awesome product. Very noticeable difference
Easy to install. Mine’s a 2002 Honda Crea Scoopy. The black wire with the white stripe is actually solid black on my model. As soon as I figured that out, I was up and running. I do get some run-on when I turn off the engine though. Great products. Thank you, Aussie Rob
Great product. Iridium spark plug is a must have. Thank you.
